Continual evolution of our strategy
Trialling new ideas
with the full Sodexo
ecosystem
By leveraging Sodexo’s
presence in local communities,
we seek to increase
participation among Sodexo
colleagues and those of its
clients and supply partners.
In 2024, Sodexo worked with its
client, Wythenshawe Hospital,
to trial a Stop Hunger Café.
By o昀昀ering surplus meals for
a £3 donation, the team raised
£106 and reduced food waste
by 18%.
Since our founding, we have adapted our strategy in response to new challenges, most
recently the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost of living crisis. This year, we remained
focused on community needs while making the best use of Sodexo’s scale, developing new
initiatives that support our partners and accelerate our mission.
Extending our
‘Funders Plus’
programme with
Pilotlight
Responding to
hyperlocal needs
through our new
Community Fund
Pilotlight connects charity
partners to business expertise,
helping them to solve strategic
challenges and release their
potential.
The Sodexo teams embedded
in communities are often well
placed to identify grassroots
needs.
This year, we have developed
a new initiative that will
fund two charity partners
through an extended 8-week
programme. They will work
with Sodexo emerging
leaders and a Pilotlight
project manager and get
recommendations for actions
to meet their charitable goals.
Our new Community Fund
creates a structured route for
these colleagues to access
support. By nominating small
local charities for microgrants
that align with our mission,
they help to extend our reach
and deepen our impact.

of the ‘Places’ pathway
of Sodexo’s Social
Impact Pledge
This strategic alignment
recognises the Stop Hunger’s
unique ability to mobilise Sodexo
colleagues, clients, and partners
in support of local impact. This
approach allows us to target the
root causes of food insecurity,
such as social mobility, with
greater precision and purpose,
helping to build further resilience
in our communities.
Support like this is rare and invaluable. Through the Stop Hunger Foundation’s partnership
with Pilotlight and Sodexo, we’ve had access to hands-on, strategic capacity building that most
funders don’t o昀昀er. For a charity like ours, it’s the kind of backing that strengthens our future
without the price tag of consultancy support.
