Spotlight on... elevating women empowerment
Empowering women is central to the Stop
Hunger Foundation’s mission to tackle food
insecurity and its root causes. In FY25 alone
Stop Hunger has supported 672,282 women.
By supporting women through con昀椀dencebuilding, skills development, and pathways to
employment, we not only uplift individuals but
also strengthen entire family units - deepening our
impact across generations and communities.
This year, we have extended Sodexo’s
SheWorks mentoring programme to two
existing partners:
The Bread and Butter Thing
The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT)
helps its members – 80% of whom are women
– to access low-cost, quality food. We’ve
supported them since 2022, funding food
delivery and empowerment projects.
The Tent UK Partnership
The Tent UK Partnership works with
businesses to connect refugees with
employment opportunities. In 2025, 22
Sodexo volunteers signed up to mentor
refugee women.
In 2025, a SheWorks mentoring workshop, hosted
at Sodexo’s Salford o昀케ce, provided 25 female
jobseekers from TBBT and Tent UK communities
with personalised, one-on-one career support
from Sodexo’s HR team. They shared their
insights on CV writing, interview techniques and
workplace best practices, building con昀椀dence for
the future.
Being a mentor has been a truly rewarding experience.
While I’ve been supporting my mentee’s journey, I’ve also
been reminded of how much there is to learn from one
another. The openness of our conversations has reinforced
for me the real power of mentorship, it broadens our
perspectives and strengthens us as people.”
